Firm Profile

LAW OFFICES OF JOEL S. CORWIN was founded in 1992 when Mr. Corwin left his partnership at a large law firm to form his own law firm which represents local, state, national and international nonprofit associations and other nonprofits and businesses with respect to their legal needs, most often acting as general counsel for its clients. Mr. Corwin’s broad experience in nonprofit and business law allows the firm to represent a variety of clients on an ongoing basis.

The firm is able to deliver cost effective, strategic and comprehensive service to its clients for a number of reasons:

–The firm’s development of ongoing and long-term relationships with its clients allows the firm to identify legal issues for a client and put them into perspective within the context of the client’s business.

–There is also no time-consuming learning curve with respect to that context due to the firm’s continuing familiarity with the client.

–Mr. Corwin’s more than 30 years’ experience representing nonprofits and other businesses allows the firm to evaluate and deal with most situations which arise for the client.

–In those instances when further expertise or litigation support is called for, the firm is again able to use Mr. Corwin’s considerable experience and involvement in the organized bar to cost-effectively tap his network of other lawyers to the extent needed, always on a transparent and strictly pass-through basis. At the same time, the client is spared the distraction of seeking out specialized counsel, since that is part of the firm’s service.

–Due to the long-term and ongoing relationships with clients, the firm is also able to lend continuity and historical perspective to its representation.

–Finally, due to its size and single-minded purpose in service of the client, the firm is able to contain costs and pass savings on to clients.
